Auction Notes

“As the auction world evolves and changes, it was necessary to modify and adjust to make the buying and selling experience better at Backgate. When we first started Backgate in 1949, buyers could take off five to six days to spend at an auction — an event that many would schedule their vacations around to attend the biggest farm auction in the world. Fast forward to 2020 and time has become more valuable. Out of town buyers are more inclined to buy online than make the trip to Stuttgart, AR. This year, we are putting all large items on two days. This allows us to advertise to a worldwide audience, helping us ensure that your items reach their potential and helping both buyers and sellers plan their time accordingly.
Dad and I saw Backgate changing 10 years ago and started discussing these changes then but it’s been hard to change an auction as iconic and historical as Backgate. This sale is part of the Blackmon Auctions family and we look forward to seeing everyone participate in the 71st anniversary…Get ready for Backgate 2.0!”
